Great idea! I would use electrical tape to seal the containers for even longer shelf life.
If using electrical tape make sure it is good quality , not the cheap stuff as it will not last..

how do you get the smell of: pickles, garlic, juice, etc. out of your containers, so the food doesn’t have the same smell as the containers, chocolate garlic sauce candies do not sound good to me and I bet they taste worse then smell!
