Getting news and information when disaster strikes is critical. Evacuation instructions, status updates, and emergency notifications will likely be shared on the air during a SHTF scenario, and without a non-electronic communication device, you’ll be left in the dark.
Your cable or satellite TV will eventually go out, if they survived the disaster at all. However, there is a good chance that there will still be terrestrial radio. Let’s say the power is out and you have exhausted your battery supply.
Crank radios are an option, but some modern models are notorious for their poor quality and tendency to break. Instead, you can build a simple foxhole radio that doesn’t require batteries!
Check out this video to learn how. Be sure to source your materials and build now, while you can, and test your radio in different locations and types of weather. Good luck!
